Our research and teaching focus primarily on social inequality, characteristics of private lives, and quantitative methods.

We follow the scientific understanding of empirical-analytical sociology and strive to provide clear and precise analyses based on meaningful data.

Organized jointly with Chair 04, our research colloquium is open to all interested parties.

What began in 1999 as a seminar with a handful of doctoral students has become an annual four-day workshop with almost 100 participants.
